What kind of professional help can I offer?

To be able to plan the further treatment detailed diagnostics at the beginning are very important. Behavioral therapy is then used to treat a variety of problems which might be:

  • Depression
  • Burn out
  • Anxiety (i. e. panic attacks, agoraphobia, specific phobias, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder)
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorders
  • Eating disorders (i. e. anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa)
  • Psychosomatic disorders (i. e. chronic pain disorders, hypochondria, somatization disorder)

The continuous validation and reevaluation of methods and techniques in behavioral therapy is one of the reasons why it can be used to treat a broad range of disorders and is often the medium of choice. In my work I use the following amongst others:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy: Noticing, analyzing and changing of negative thought and behavioral patterns
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Facilitating the acceptance of a problem and on the same time encouraging the orientation to a value- and goal- oriented behavior
  • Schema therapeutic methods: Discovering different parts of a personality and learning how to work with them
  • Expositional techniques: Going through the fear to learn how to cope
  • Training of social competences: Building up self-confident behavior in social situations
  • Emotion-focused techniques: Noticing, validating and encouraging feelings to achieve a holistic change
  • Mindfulness-based techniques: Facilitation of a present-oriented attitude
  • Relaxation techniques: Improvement of self-regulation and self-calming
  • Imagination techniques: Using the power of imagination as a support for other techniques and methods
  • Facilitation of activities for an active and happier life
  • Resource-oriented techniques: Assessment of new, old and – maybe – lost resources and learning how to use them to cope with problems or to boost the well-being

Stress-coping techniques: support of a serene attitude at work and in private
